Due: Session 3 of Block Scheduling Week
Link to Handout Instruction
Purpose & Instructions
Your group is responsible for the design of a “body” in a box. Three human systems must be included (in 3-D) and properly labeled. A fourth system may be added for additional credit. A short (3 paragraph) essay on 1) how the system works 2) how it works with another system and 3) how it helps maintain homeostasis will complete the assignment. You must include the NERVOUS and DIGESTIVE systems and you pick the third system for your box: Circulatory, Nervous, Respiratory, Digestive, Endocrine. REFER TO THE HANDOUT FOR A COMPLETE LIST OF REQUIRED ANATOMICAL PARTS
Some combinations will be more difficult compared to others (you can receive more points from me for those difficult combinations). You must think about the combinations before starting your assignment and tell your teacher what combination you’ve chosen. In addition to how these systems work together, think about how HOMEOSTASIS can be maintained. Make sure to include a discussion about homeostasis in your essay and use one of the following examples: Homeostasis, Temperature Control (cooling down or heating up), Glucose metabolism, Fight or Flight, Water conservation and Solute concentrations (water gains or losses).
Grading Rubric for Body Boxes Project for written and box portions
5 All “4” Rubric components AND is exceptional by:
4 All parts completes ON TIME with neatness, accuracy and care
3 A part of “4” Rubric may be incomplete and or inaccurate
2 Several parts of “4” Rubric missing, incomplete and or inaccurate
0 No project is turned in.
