Instructions & Questions:
In your group, you will practice how to perform CPR. You can choose to do either "Compression-Only CPR" or the first responder CPR. Answer the following question on a separate sheet of paper after practicing at least 30 compressions on the CPR training doll. Be sure to include the title STATION 2: CPR on top of the short question answer.

2) Push hard & fast in the center of the chest at 100 beats a minute.

First Responder CPR:
1) Assess for safety hazards.
2) Check for responsiveness from patient.
3) Tell someone to get an AED and call 911.
4) Check for breathing and pulse.
5) If pulse present, but no breathing, give 1 rescue breath every 5 seconds and recheck pulse every 2 minutes.
6) To give rescue breathes, lift the chin and pinch the nose close to provide a breath.
7) If no pulse, start CPR cycle of 30 compressions to 2 rescue breaths.
8) To perform compressions, clasp hands together onto the middle of the patient's chest. Compression depth should be about 2 inches which takes some effort. Compressions should be at 100 beats a minute.
9) After 5 cycles or once you are exhausted and no help has arrived, find help and call 911.
